We Invite You to Sponsor Our School

Are you willing to sponsor the International School of Siem Reap to secure a full education for Cambodian children alongside expatriate children, giving both access to an internationally recognized educational program. To do this we provide the British National Curriculum taught in English by qualified expatriate teachers supported by local teachers (for Khmer literacy and culture) for local children. Our pupils learn to understand and appreciate the cultures of both Cambodia and the West through ISSR's comprehensive educational program which develops individual abilities, talents and reasoning skills that are pre-requisites for higher education and a career within Cambodia or other countries.

In particular, the Khmer graduates of ISSR will be among those who lead and influence the country's labour force when they become future managers within this generation. While the expatriate pupils will have been able to further their education at an internationally accepted standard while gaining understanding and insight for the cultural differences they encounter in this country.

The International School of Siem Reap is seeking financial support to achieve this goal of attaining a better future for Cambodian children and to give them the opportunity of a fulfilled life. In the primary and high school system analytical skills and the ability to reason for one's self gets insufficient attention whereas our educational program provides this as well as comprehensive English language support as a core part of its teaching. In the Siem Reap area there is no equal. Our expatriate teachers are well-qualified and are all experienced English speakers.

Or, Do You Prefer to Sponsor a Child?

We receive requests from local poor parents who have understood that a good education will open up opportunities for their children's future asking us to help them find a caring sponsor to make this possible. Similarly, some of the numerous orphanages who provide home and shelter but otherwise rudimentary educational facilities for their children approach us occasionally with the profile of a child, whom they believe is exceptionally deserving, to ask if we know of a potential sponsor for them to bring such a child to study at ISSR.

We strongly recommend that if you wish to contact ISSR with the intention of supporting an individual, deserving child financially that you do so with the intention of supporting the child at least through to completion of his/her school education. We will, of course, do our best to help find another sponsor if unforeseen events in the future should prevent your ability to continue support for the child concerned.
